2.7 misfire (long)
I've been away from this from for a long time. But now I really need your help. Well the problem is the following. My car started producing a whistling noise. At first I thought that the turbos went. The noise started getting louder and louder. That was the time when I brought my car to my mechanic(the same who had worked on my car for the pas 3 year). At first he said it wasn't a big deal and it was something wrong with the accessory belt. According to him one of the pulleys went and the accessory belt was loose. Later on he called me and said he needs to change the timing belt again because the tensioner went as well. After he put on the new parts and closed the car he showed me that the timing belt was severely damaged. A big piece of the timing belt was ripped off but luckily the timing belt was still at one piece. Is it possible that the car was running on a timing belt which width was half of its normal width? So after he finally put the car together he warned me that due to the damaged timing belt the engine might be damaged as well. Oh well I didn't have to wait too long. Just 50 miles later the car started shaking and producing a severe misfire. I was told that it might go away over time, which actually was true. The car started shaking less and less until the point where it had the misfire only when the engine was cold. But again over time it started shaking more and more and the misfire never goes away. We changed the spark plugs along with the cables. Nothing. Then we measured the compression and the passenger side engine block reading were slightly lower than the normal. Also the antifreeze started disappearing. I could only feel the smell but I could never spot a leak. A few people told me that the antifreeze might be somehow mixing with the oil which could produce the misfire but nobody was able to really tell me what is causing the misfire.
Any input is highly appreciated
