2001 audi 4.2 shift lock override

can someone help me with a solution on how i can drive my car. after it rained my car got flooded inside..i got the water out..but i cant shift it from park to drive. it seems to be locked. does anyone know how to unlock it. Is there a code or something?

Shift Lock after driving in rain

Can anybody suggest a possible solution? I just had the same symptom. (Cant shift from park after driving in a heavy rain)

My EPC light also just came on and the dash does not display the gear that I am in. Searching around several people mentioned a brake switch problem but my break lights still work properly.

There's a shift solenoid that is electrically unlocked. Activated by your foot on the brake pedal. Switch behind the brake pedal. Make sure that switch is dried out.
