Default 99 Audi A6 odometer problem

The screen in the center of my 99 Audi's odometer is messed up. I can see the screen but there is alot of mixing pixels(if thats what they are called) The Audi dealer is kinda far from me so I wanted to know before I take my car to them that how much is it gonna cost to fix those missing pixels on the screen. I have hard time seeing the gear I am in when I am driving in manual mode.

Thanks in advance

It's not mixing pixels. It's missing pixels.

Couldn't find the edit button to edit the original one :/

BBA Reman or Module Master. Either can repair the cluster.

Are these two online only stores?

They aren't stores. They are repair centers.

I got mine done through ModuleMaster.com and was very pleased with the result (back to OEM or better w/ 5 year warranty). Cost me $120+20s/h service plus my $30s/h to get it to them. That's about the cheapest route to have it fixed with a warranty (and use of a premium LCD screen).

So if I take it to the Audi dealer they will charge me more? And I am still confused with Modulemaster.com do I have to take out my cluster and ship it to them to fix or how does that work? Because on their website I can't find their place or anything.

**The question below is not related to the cluster but just curious**

I see that your car has Bose sound system. My car has the crappy standard speakers (which are really annoying to listen to). My friend has bose speakers from an 2002 Audi A6 and I was wondering if I buy them from him how much is it gonna cost me to install them in my car(bestbuy people maybe?)?

Thanks again

The dealer won't do anything besides replace the entire cluster, which is around $800. For any of the other places you have to get it to them somehow, so yes - I took my cluster out and shipped it to them. It took a total of 13 days with relatively slow shipping methods. You want this link: http://modulemaster.com/en/services/...t_clusters.php and then see where it says "LCD Rebuild" - that's what you want. They are located in Idaho (which it says on every single page of their site on the right side).

I don't know if BestBuy would even do it, and i certainly wouldn't know how much it would cost if you asked them. Also, i believe you would have to also replace the headunit with his, but i don't know this for sure. If i recall correctly, the Concert has the ability to be changed from standard to Bose just with the use of Vag-Com, so there is a possibility this would work. I am also not sure if the subwoofer would fit well in the rear - it probably would, but I cannot be sure.
