A6 4.2L quattro still Overheating!!
Please help as Ive been car-less for 3 days now...

was overheating at 76k miles. private mechanic will charge 500-600 just to get in there, the belt is about $70 other parts are under $40. You have to take off the timing belt to get to the thermastat and you need special tool that cost $70 to put the timing belt back on. Once you pay the mechanic to get in there, you might as well replace those other parts, they tend to go out after 100 to 120k.
This was a pain in the *** but I'm almost 95% sure that's what it is. This is very common for 98 to 2004s
