Audi A6 2.6L Automatic Reverse Light problem
I have an Audi A6 from 1996, its a 2.6 Litre V6 with automatic transmission. Its a complete stock car, no extras or anything else modded. I have owned this car for about a month and it was just been checked at the garage when I first noticed the reverse light was out. The mechanic just fiddled with the wire and it worked. Now after one month its stopped working. I am an electrician by trade so please take note that I know for sure that no fuses are blown, no cuts or breaks in the wires. I have no power what so ever at the bulb nor at the connector in the boot. I have searched this forum and they mentioned a reverse switch located on the transmission. Can anyone give me a electrical schematic and/or a drawing of what this switch looks like with the location of course. Also is it possible to change the switch without dropping my transmission out? I can do most mechanic things but dropping a transmission out is beyond my skill set.
Ok one more request (I am feeling alittle guilty requesting so much!) Can their be any else which can cause this? Since I have no schematic nor experience of the layout.
I used to own a 1994 audi a6 manual transmission, it ran for years without a single problem but yeah automatic brings its own set of problems...
Thank you in advance for any help, if I do not reply right away it either that I am working or different time zone. So please relax if there is no instant reply.
