How far up did the water go? Was it salt water?

If yours needs repair.
It's a pain to remove...have to take out the left fender liner to get to the six torx or allen head screws...also two electrical connectors, one on the bottom and the other on the side further up. You pull the **** and the connector levers up the connection. The bottom one is a typical audi connector, push in the lock and the connector comes off.
I was able to replace my abs module in a couple hours after I winkled out the screws.
Be careful of the windshield washer pump seal...it probably isn't very good after 8-10 years and can leak. Either replace it or empty the washer tank, dry around the seal interface, reseal with whatever you like that resists alcohol.
You don't need vag-com to reset the abs, at least I didn't on my 2K4.2A6.
Is this because the drain under the battery is not being cleared?
Never experienced this (and don't want to either) may be because every fall and periodically, I inspect the areas around battery and fenders to see if debris collected and take it out. Also, once a year, try to remove battery and clean out / flush to make sure the drains are not clogged.
To me this sounds like a simple regular maintenance issue. If there is something else, curious to find out so I can avoid this.
I do clear the drain tubes for the sun roof but have never cleared any other drain. Thanks for that info also.
Are there any connectors related to the abs module under the passenger side carpet?
Unfortunately, I still don't know if I have a bad abs controller or just a wet connector. I'm thinking if the abs controller is under the fender then either it went bad at the same time I got flooded out or it is just a wet connector under the passenger side carpet.
