Default cold starts
does anyone out there have problems with cold starts on their A6. i have a 00 4.2 and find that even when the temp is in the high 40s my car sputters quite a bit when starting, in the winter(garaged and all) at 30 degrees it idles very poorly for about 3 minutes before i can drive. local dealership says that is standard for our cars, any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated

Default Sounds excessive. 30 seconds maybe, not 3 minutes.
The current wisdom on warming up says that you SHOULD drive, not idle to warm up. Maybe you should try this, even with the stumblin' and bumblin'.
