Yes. Sell the 2.8 and and buy one with a 2.7t in it. Easy and you won't even get your hands dirty.

The answer is always yes. What it depends upon is how much money you have.

Converting your 2001 A6 2,8 Quattro to 2,7 Biturbo is easy. Engine is bolt-in, wiring harness (as long as donor car is C5) is plug 'n play. You'll need the cluster from the donor car, with matching ECU and ignition key, otherwise you'll need to code the donor ECU to your immobilliser.

Intercooler mounting points exist in your C5 A6, so no issues there. All depends on how good you are at wrenching, and how much you can get all the parts for. Probably best to buy a wrecked C5 2,7T, and swap all the parts over. If you're good, the swap can be carried out in a weekend.

Good luck.

The point here is that it can definitely be done, but it's not worth the time/money. Judging from other posts, you've grenaded your 2.8 engine and you're looking for options. Depending on the extent of the damage, your best bet is likely to swap in a used engine. Remember to do the timing belt job while it's in process!

Now, if you just waited too long to change the timing belt on your current engine and damaged some valves, you can probably swap in used heads and save yourself some money.

In the end, if you still want a 2.7, sell your 2.8, being sure to reference the recent repairs/maintenance, and find a 2.7.

I have already changed out the motor in the c5 i have. the first motor was blown. The second one i have in the car i did all the timing water pump bearings and all. At this point if i do a nother engine swap i want more power. reason being is that i want to add another alt and plus i have a aditional 400bls in the trunk. I have all the tools to doo the job plus Ros tech but i was wondering how to do so if i could.
