Differences between 2002 and 2003
I am considering selling my '94 'S4 and buying a newer car, either a 2002 or 2003 A6, probably with the 3.0 engine. Are there any significant differences or reliablity issues? Anything to watch out for or check over closely with either year?

not much mechanically changed between 02 and 03, but...
audi did start to scale back some features, such as memory for passenger seat (removed in 03) tiptronic buttons on the steering wheel (removed in 03), no more pre-wiring for the trunk-mounted CD changer (removed in 03)...you get the pattern. One of the major reasons I opted for the 2002 4.2 when I went shopping last winter. I could have held out for a 2003 with similar or fewer miles, cost was not a barrier, but in the end, I wanted a couple of those features.
I'm sure there are others, but those are the ones that come to mind.

You may be thinking of the '01-'02 upgrade to the sports suspension, where what had been ...
the sports suspension (in '01) became the stock suspension (in '02) and a stiffer still sports suspension was then offered as an option.

Agreed.....although....
....I'm not sure that anyone has ever used the passenger seat memory. The other stuff was useful but deleting the interior motion sensor (and the button that goes missing) was an improvement.
Overall though, the '02 has more content for the same base price.
The rear changer wiring is very useful even if you don't have a changer - I connected my XM back there.....

Now we've got it! Gee, Audi didn't make it easy on us, did they?
I only looked up the 2.7T and drew my conclusions based on that. Who'd have tought they would have gone in three different directions in 2003?

I saw from your sig that you upgraded the fogs on your 2001 to "PIAA extreme white". How do you like them? Cost? Difficulty doing the install?
Also, where'd you get the compass mirror? How much?
These are a couple of mods I've been entertaining for my 2001 2.7T.
