Electrical problem
If anyone has any info on this please advise.
I have an 1998 A6 Quattro and all of a sudden my headlights went out. Also my wipers, AC, Horn, signal lights, fog lights and rear fog light have just stopped working. Is ther any fuses other than the basic ones on the drivers side of the dash that needs to be repalced. I know german car makers usually hide another fuse box somewhere in the car I just cant find it. HELP !!!!

you have probably eyeballed every connection under the hood
any crimped wires or melted plastic?
did you try pulling and reseating your fuses?
do you have any way to check the codes? Vagtool or someone you know with a vagtool?
sounds like a call to the dealer is in order?

Yeah I put the fuses in again and I looked for any wires crimped or striped but all looks good. Yeah I will be going to the dealer on Monday. Thanks. I am looking at other postings and I am finding out some interesting stuff. Thanks again.

That's alot of different systems to be affected...
...which indicates it is unlikely to be fuses or even relays--are you sure a main wiring harness hasn't come loose, or the fuse box itself hasn't become dislodged (have you gone looking for the power steering relay for example?)

sounds like the ignition switch went bad.with car running,jiggle the key in the ignition cylinder,if you get lights,windows,wipers,etc.you have a bad switch.the grounds for these[other than wipers]circuits are under the left front dash,near the hood release.as far as having another fuse block,the one in l/f dash is it.
