Engine transportation Hatch
I would like to pick up an engine 3.0v6 in order to have the option to use the crankshaft in the future.
The engine is very cheap so I would like to pick it up either in my Avant, or (preferably) in a small hatch (Corsa B).
Do you have advice, links or pictures on how to do it? I've transported small 4 cylinders for short distances without any restrains but since this engine is 100km away and is much bigger I would like to know if you have some strategies to do it safely ?
Regards,
Pedro
It might fit in a c5 avant, but a better vehicle would be a van. I'm going to guess that it will take an engine hoist the move the engine, and there is not much clearance to fit into an avant because of the way that the hatch opens.
Once you get it into the vehicle (whether van or avant), use shipping straps to secure it in place. Minimum of 4 straps, more is better.
Take pictures and let us know how it went....
