flashing key light on dashboard

flashing key light on dashboard
Hello everyone,
I'm new in the forum and I need some help!! I recently bought a 2001 Audi A6 Avant and I'm trying to fix little thing myself. The other day I bought over ebay a new case for the flip key. I disassembled and switch it over to the new one, now when I put the key in the ingnition the key light on the dashborad start flashing and when I try to turn on the car is shuts off after a second. I try to reprogram it and it worked even though the key light on the dashboard kept flashing but when I went back after an hour, the car was acting the same as before trying to reprogram it. I hope that some one will be able to help me and I can skip the dealer.
