HELP!!!

I have a 00 2.7 with 54k upon cold start up a high pitched whining comes from the engine for a minute or so it sounds like a circuler saw,I also use mobil 1 5w-30 any ideas?

where are you located?
maybe your air injection pump is noisy

More than likely it is your secondary air pump. It is located under the hood, rear of engine but on the top side. It is a black pump with 1 platic hose coming off it that Y's to both secondary air change over valves.

I've got the same problem

Sounds like some kind of pump, goes for about a min. then goes away, the fan also goes off when the "Sound" goes away. Doesn't come on again, so figures it was supposed do that. But when your leaving the theater or a football game in a croud, its kind of embarrassing.
