HELP... cam timing adjuster problem...

Do not worry so much about the marks on the cam caps when counting the links in the chain. Focus on the number of barrels between the depressions in the cam sprockets. Once you get it to 16, pick up both cams, keeping them taut so you do not jump teeth due to slack, and place them in the head. When placing them in the head, find the position where the cams sit flush, and if you have to rotate cw or ccw to do so, make sure you turn them together so you do not lose your 16 links of separation.
