Help! Car is 2 days away, ordered Xeons but car doesn't have them. Take it or wait another 3 months?
If the stock market woes weren't bad enough, he tells me the car doesn't have the Xenon's that I ordered.
I do a lot of back country road driving, (since I take the route less traveled to beat commute) and had a near collision with a deer. Since then, I've been very impressed with the how the Xenons work, and light the surroundings.
My questions are:
1- Could the regular lights be swapped out for Xenons?
2- When this type of mistake happens (somewhere between dealer and factory), if I reorder the car and wait 3 months, does the dealer provide me with a loner?
3- If not, what kind of "compensation" is acceptable and fair?
Any insight and help is really appreciated.
Close and yet so far,

Don't take the car. The xenons are great. Have them find a car that matches your specs. Acept no less. If the only car they can find has more options than you want, they should throw them in. DO NOT pay more for the car than agreed upon in the first place. I don't know how this happens, but it cost my first dealer a sale. I think the dealer and Audi are both at fault. Therefore, you can't hold it all against your dealer. However, they should make things right. Good luck. Let me know how it comes out.
I saw a few TT roadsters also. They're gorgeous, especially the gray one with the baseball glove stitching interior. But I guess it's harder for the dealers to push them after what happened to the stock market.

The A6 xenons are not only brighter than the euro lights on the A4, they have the same pattern. If you've not driven e-spec lights before, it's literally night and day.
You want this option.

One reason is the Xenons have a ballast style power supply that is separate from the high-beam bulbs. When you turn on your high-beams, your xenons stay on also. The xenon by itself is VERY bright and has a superb pattern with even fill.
The xenons are more than worth their price!

IMHO, I would get the car as is....xenons are nice...but sometimes they can be a detriment.

Anyways, I'll go down there this weekend to see if there is anything coming in with my specs. Either way, I have full confidence in Ernst.
