Default HELP: Coding the central locking issue

Did search and couldn't really find the answer I'm after.

My car had the default code of 15885 and we were trying to 15981, it accepted the code. However, when you press and hold the open button on the remote, the windows aren't rolling down.. nor the windows go up if you hold the lock button.

We even went back in and Vag Com is saying the code is 15981. I'm thinking there is more of a procedure issues.... this should be plug & play, right? Once you press "Do It" on Vag-Com, it should take immediate affect, right?

Am I missing something?

Default One tip...

You can't unlock it, let go of the button, and then press and hold it again. This sequence will not work.

You have to have the car locked, and then press and hold. Then, it will work and the windows will go down.

Same deal on locking/windows up.

Default you need to make sure you have the proper code- and rremeber, Bose vs.

non-Bose makes a difference.

Default Thanks guys!

I have the non-Bose and it was with the non-Bose default code. I pretty much just followed the tech article on AW. I'm thinking the my sequence of using the remote is incorrect.

Thanks again!

Default Yup, 15885 is for that year if radio is Symphony I, If radio is concert then 16140 is correct

code or starting point. So 15949 adds just remote windows up/down feature for symphony. 16204 would work for concert. Try these codes out to see if you get anything.

Windows = +64
1 touch doors = -04
no horn W/lock = -1024
autolock doors = +32

If you knew all this already, Sorry!

You need to hold the button down for 4-5 seconds and be in "range" that whole time...
