They even gave me a new A4 loaner. I wouldn't have thought it was possible to have it installed at all, l let alone, for free. Thanks to the forum my kid will have a nicely secured car seat.

Really? When I took my car in for a CEL I mentioned it and they said they could do it for a fee.

Default I had them installed into my '02 4.2 last week and paid zero.

Default There may be something on NHTSA's or IIHS's websites you can bring to your dealer.

I do recall that all vehicles and carseats manufactured after 9/1/02 have to have LATCH (<b>L</b>ower <b>A</b>nchors and <b>T</b>ethers for <b>CH</b>ildren) installed and be LATCH compatible, respectively.

I think I heard the 'manufaturer required to install LATCH upon request' at a seminar...I'll have to dig through my notes/CDS because now I'm curious. :P If I find anything, I'll check back with you.

Default My dealer gave me the parts for free for the lower LATCH, and said "see ya."

I asked about the rear deck upper latch and they sold that to me at a hefty discount.
