OT: practical training in software engineering
I know that many intelligent people (aka Audi drivers...) are using this forum and many of you are working in the computer and software industry.
I live with my family in Switzerland (near Zurich). My younger son Jürg (18) is very active and knowledgable in writing software for Windows (spends day and night in front of the PC...). He has pretty good knowledge of C++ and Java and he knows almost everything about Windows 98, 2000 and XP. But - and this is a requirement of most big companies - he is not yet a college student (it takes another two years...).
Now he is looking for some practical experience in the computer industry next fall and at the same time he wants to improve his english. He could spend 5 to 6 weeks in the US. He has his own homepage where he also shows some programs he has developped (see link).
Is there a possibility for such practical training in a US company? Big or small doesn't matter so much - it should become an outstanding experience in his life...
