posted limit only, speeding = $$$$$$$ better spent
I stay within the posted limits myself. Speeding tickets these days can set you back the cost of a half a set of tires or some other sweet parts. What's your hurry? Slow down and enjoy your life.

so what spend 500 on a radar detector to avoid a 200 dollar ticket? are you really getting THAT many tickets? and if so, you deserves them. go the speed limit, be aware of posted speed, that is a basic tennet of being a good driver, situational awareness

The ticket isn't the real problem...the expensive issue is the insurance bump.

There are also new interactive radar detectors with internet connectivity I understand and real time speed trap updates.
GPS is also handy but it tracks speed limit changes after the fact, and often much later. GPS speed limit is also occasionally at odds with the posted speed limit. And the posted speed limit is generally what you will be charged with violating.
