It means the remote start is activated by your OEM Audi key fob. Hit the lock button twice and the car starts.

I'm not sure that's a good idea....I've been known to hit the lock button more than once!

which in and of itself is not a big problem in that my other cars automatically lock when the remote start button is hit...

and with the timers, the engines turn off in 10 minutes or whatever it is set at...

How am I at coding? About as good as the source coding most of us know,
you see it's the firmware that maps out the program "coding" as we call it and that is determined by the hardware versions per application, almost like a ladder diagram with it's I/O's dedication to events in an order that works. What many don't know is the architecture of the firmware coding that might have a layer down coding like windows registry build only to protect the product, in our case it's to protect Audi from copy-cats or unintended adverse mishaps leading to lawsuits.

How good am I at the German language? It’s the first one I’ve known along with some Hungarian, first born generation American though.

2.7Lturbo you are right on the money it is a learning curve alright, my brain has been near fried on VSR control programming thanks to Alan Bradley and GE Fuji these days and I get paid for that, the refrigeration part of that is a walk in the park for me.

It would be easy to do by using the passenger side unlock switch to start the car. Two unlock button presses starts the car. Then the car locks it again when the doors do not open.

If that can be done with maintaining the factory alarm, lighting group and lock sequence along with the factory immobilliser/security check.....and activate the relay module (IE remote module) for the ignition wires along with the other two power wires for a go I'd be willing to send you a case of your choice of beer and a Omaha Steaks gift card for fifty smackers (*of course with plans and proof) and you would be a real pioneer in the forums for venturing into the unknown sector of the forbidden zone that many have been scoffed and scorned by the elders for such nonsense. I wish someone would do it or has the time; I don't with too many other irons in the fire.

*Minor disclosure for tender of good intent

The whole point of the immobilizer is to make it difficult to bypass. One of the reasons car thefts are way down in modern cars.

You have to decide what you want more. Auto start or the immobilizer.

The car is not worth what it costs to reprogram the ecu....

I'm not being a dick. Give me a break. I know there isn't a stock solution. I asked about using the STOCK remotes.

I don't have an effing problem going out and starting my car like a man. I don't feel like getting it stolen, which is entirely possible with the key in the ignition.

My daughter rides in the car and she is 18 months old. It is mostly for her and my wife's comfort.

I have a full blown VIPER 5901/SmartStart currently, in my allroad. It required buying three (3) new keys (not remote switch blades) plus cut/program at the dealer.

It was over $1,000.

I'm not trying to be a dick. I just asked a simple question.

This *is* a discussion forum.
I keep my valet key in the car, so i start it up then lock the whole car from the outside and go in my house as it warms up... Just a suggestion.

I'm thinking about giving this a try.
Feel free to PM me on this. I work for Directed (viper) and am pretty sure we can do what you want. I have 5901/smartstart on my b7 s4. Just want to double check with my tech to make sure there are no issues with doing this on your specific vehicle.

Do you control with your Audi key fob with no additional remote?
