Reprogram central locking sys
I just had my 8000 mile service (at 9200 miles), and told them I wanted the central locking system reprogrammed so that the doors auto-lock at 15 mph, and I can use the remote to open and close the windows. When I picked it up, they said that "Audi doesn't allow them" to reprogram the window open/close via remote because of "liability". Anybody every heard of this before??? It seems kinda ridiculous... My wife's Lexus RX-300 does it (OK, no flames!)... besides, it sounds like lots of people on this forum have had it done by their dealers.
BTW, I do like the auto-lock feature.
Had my snows mounted, too. I got the Bridgestone Blizzaks. Actually, the service guy called me to make sure that I _really_ wanted these. He said they were "good tires", but that they "made a lot of noise". Well, they don't seem very noisy to me (OK, so my last "car" was a `92 Explorer with 30"x10.5" mud and snow tires ;-).

Well, it is dependent on your dealer. University Audi (Seattle)is doing it for me before I pick up my new car (maybe becuase I won't pay for it till I am satisfied)? Not sure but he (Ivan) said not a problem... Good luck...

Suggest you print this out and take it the dealer!
As you will see from this TSB AoA will allow one free reprogramming of the locking system under the warranty

When I called AoA...
they told me that they will not allow their dealers to do anything but the auto locking feature. Because of liability. I have had 2 different dealers here in the Chicago 'burbs refuse to do it for me. I really would like to get reprogrammed.... maybe next time I'm in another city I can find a willing dealer.

John's got the facts.
Other posters have referenced this in the past. Based on many other posts, I guess It's not surprising the some dealers are full of hooey, and some parts of AoA don't know what other parts are doing.
