Default Resurfacing dual mass flywheel

I have a 01 A6 with 2.7t 6speed manual and im replacing my clutch in a couple of weeks and just realized that most place ive called do not resurface a dual mass fly wheel for what ever reasons. Has anyone had success with finding a place that will resurface them. I am in the southeaster part of wisconsin so if it somewhere near me that would be even better. I know buying a new fly wheel would be best but for cost reasons that is not an option for me. Please someone help me ASAP. Thank you

your not suppose to really reuse them, they can fail at high mileage and cause vibration, im gonna reuse mine in my 100q im rebuilding. On the 1.8T cars we always get the upgraded kit with a solid flywheel. I would reuse it, just use a abrasive wheel and make a nice new surface for it at least.

sounds like you're having an argument with yourself :-)

The re-use bit has to do with the rubber coupling deteriorating. Basically, check it. Move a lot? Unsafe. Solid? Just fine. Scuff up the surface with scotch-bright or maybe something mroe aggressive? Ok, btu don't make it less than flat!

I re-use them in track driven porsches. Similar part, audi tranny (01).

Thanks for all the response, I just decided to go ahead and buy a new lightweight flywheel. Figured its best not to cut corner/cost on such an important part.

the pedal feel is too smooth, maybe im just used to my auto-crossing youth days when you could be heads up and the clutch pedal would literally punch your foot when you started to engage it.

nowadays i still have a hard time nailing down the "perfect" shift point on this car in all gears.

its smooth, but i wouldn't be winning any races
