Software version upgrade

I was speaking with an Audi dealer in regards to my car having a delay when I almost come to a stop and then punch it.

From what I can gather there is a new software version or maybe ECU for the tranny. I guess this is suposed to help with the delay in response.

I do not think it has to do with the re code 00032.

Has anyone had this done by a Audi dealer?

I was told by my dealer that software has just come out for the 3.0 engine but not for the 4.2. He told me that they are experimenting with it on their loaner cars before doing any customer installs.

I've wondered whether this was deliberate per the "unintended acceleration" fiasco?

That's the one thing I really can't stand about the car. So far, nobody on this board has had a conclusive solution to this.

I notice it on my S6 !

Same problem, only sometimes, as I'm downshifting the Tip, it will hesitate in between the 2nd-1st shift, and when punched, feel like it's at half speed. The tranny's soaking up the power, or the ECU is at half strangth !

That's the whole ECU/TCU/fly-by-wire throttle package FUBAR. My '02 S6 will randomly cycle into what feels like a "limp home" mode and stay there until the throttle is either released and re-applied, or aggessively pushed past 1/2 way. The car will then lunge ahead with heavy acceleration. Makes pulling into traffic or onto highway merges more than a little risky. Audi says, "nothing wrong - normal 4.2 behavior". Bull****, of course. I'm close to a "Lemon Law" action. I'm just waiting for a GIAC chip up-grade to see if that fixes it [I doubt it...]
