Tip Chip in automatic mode?

Tip Chip in automatic mode?
It seems pretty clear that everyone that has the tip chip is happy with it. Does the tip chip speed up the shift time in automatic mode as well or only when using tiptronic? Also, for those of you that had a good experience purchasing a chip please let me know where you got it. Thanks!
