TIP recode
There have been a number of posts on changing the coding for the transmission to 00022 or 00032. I stopped at my dealer yesterday and asked about it, and the tech coded the trans to 00032 for me without charge in about 5 minutes. Said there is no adverse warranty issue. It allows me to hold first in TIP mode, which I like a lot, and it disables the learning mode, which seems to make the shifts more predictable. I think it also prescribes somewhat higher shift points, but I really don't notice any significant change in shift action in Drive (no quicker shifts, etc). But holding first in TIP mode is great.

Cool, I went from 00032 to 00022 to have the option of "S" via gearshift
selector. With 00022, the paddle shifters stiill can cut in on "D" or "S", but the learning mode stays on in "D" for that extra bump in mileage for fuel. I run 00032 on my '00 2.7T Tip, though.

What's the difference in the tip codes
I have an '03 2.7T; the code from the factory is 01002. What is the difference between changing this to 01022 and 01032. Also, what is the siginificance of the 1.
I ask because there are different codes for different years, and if techs will change them, I want to know which code to request.
