Tiptronic Problems.... '01 4.2
My tiptronic does not want to stay in manual mode. I move the lever over and the +/- lights light up correctly and immediately, but it takes about 1-2 seconds for the "PRND432" to change to "12345", and then it only stays at "12345" for about 1-2 seconds before it starts flashing back and forth between "PRND432" and "12345" about every 1-2 seconds.
I also have had a code thrown in VAG-COM:
18169 - Shift Lock Solenoid (N110): Short to Ground
P1761 - 35-00
But I'm not sure if that has anything to do with it or not. Also, sometimes the tiptronic has worked perfectly, and other times it has not even come on. I've already checked that the magnets are both there, but haven't got any further than that... Could the circuit board be damaged? Or the magnets lost their strength?
