Wastegate to atmosphere? 2.7T

Wastegate to atmosphere? 2.7T
I am thinking of doing a custom job for a total exhaust.
I have an all Magnaflow from DP back including cats that will mate up to the tantrumwerks DP's 3-bolt flange via an adapter.
Either way, it’s a 2.5" all the way form turbo back and I wanted to know if anyone would recommend cutting and welding off the waste gate piping directly to atmosphere form one of the split DP’s (http://www.tantrumwerks.com/images/27dp7lg.jpg). I might extend the waste gate piping a foot, but is this worth it... any theoretical gains… will it run cooler impellers back? I was thinking that it might pass smog if I find a way to bolt on a pre-fitted pipe that will reroute the waste gate pipe back into the exhaust system via an exhaust cutout (http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/02cutouts.asp).

Eh, You can if you study the split DP's... there are two seperate pipes that meet together about 8" down. The internal fittings in the split DPs do just that, they truly seperate the wastegates from the impellers.
Eitherway, I outright gave in last night and ordered the 034 3" DPs...
