Default 255... i had 255/35/18s on my 2.7T. If you get the BFGoodrich KDW2s you want the 245s

because those tires tend to run wide, so they are as wide as let's say a pirelli pzero nero 255... I had Pirelli Pzero neros on my 18s for my last car (2.7T) and I had no rubbing issues.

Default i never got that far, as I bought the 4.2.. but there are several people on this forum

with 2.7Ts running 255 tires with HR coilovers with no complaints.

Default 265 if it isn't lowered (265/35-18)

Once I lowered it, I had to adjust the camber a lot to make them fit, and even then they rubbed a bit.

I just bought 255/35/18 w/ 5-spoke RS6 wheels. My question is how much should I lower the car?? It's a daily driver. I am wondering if I should go 1.7 in the front and 1.5 in the rear.

Any thoughts??
Thanks

Default I'm betting that 1.7 would be too much, the car is pretty low already...

255 is pretty wide as well. once you lower it, that becomes more of a problem. If you are getting adjustable height coilovers, I'd start at maybe 1" and see how it is and then lower more if the clearances allow.

Default Re: I'm betting that 1.7 would be too much, the car is pretty low already...

That's where I'm getting a little confused, right now with the stock 9 spoke wheels and tires I have(235/45/17's) there is a little bit more than 3 inches between the tire and fender. I have seen other 04' A6 2.7t S-lines and they seem to sit a bit lower than mine, with no modifications done to the car. So that's why I thoughtI could just go with H&R sport springs (avg. lowering 1.5 to 1.7 in the frt. and 1.3 to 1.5 in rear.)

Your thoughts...

Default Well if it's riding that high already, maybe you'd be ok...

If you have an extra 500 to 800 in your budget the CPP adjustable control arms allow you to go as low as you want and still suck the tops of the tires in under the fenders. I almost made it happen with the 265's. I'm not familiar with your particular car. Have you had the suspension inspected to make sure that there wasn't any packing or spacers left in the suspension somewhere???
