Another Dumb Question - LoJack?
And if so, does that if my car is ever stolen, cops will choose not to use the LoJack device to track my car just because I did not pay for it?

They send out an inspector to check the unit and if it's working OK they issue a printed document and wallet ID card of LoJack protection on the spot.
Just had it done in May.
FYI - my insurance co. didn't offer any discount on it. They claimed I had all the discounts they could apply to my policy.
I bought my 2006 A6 through CarMax. It was not installed, and I opted to purchase it.
My reasons for doing so were: 1) reduced insurance costs (though this was not the primary motivation), 2) the ability to quickly locate/recover my car if ever stolen, 3) my hatred of conventional, noisy and essentially worthless "car alarm" systems.
If you have "gap insurance" that would make you whole in the event of your car being stolen, as well as the wherewithal to repurchase the same car, I'd skip it. Otherwise, LoJack seemed a decent value to me, when compared to the inconvenience and out-of-pocket expenses I'd incur from the theft of my A6.
Good luck!
