'Green' tranny fluid isn't actually green

'Green' tranny fluid isn't actually green
So I learned something today when doing the tranny fluid servicing on my car.
I was advised by my local audi dealership and the confirmed by viewing the indications on the transmission itself (09L) takes the green fluid (G060162A2). So when I opened the tranny fluid plug I saw that the fluid was brown in color.
Furthermore, I noticed that the ZF Lifegaurd8 fluid I had, which I used to replace, is also the same brown (honey) color.
Was I just mistaken that I was expecting it to be green or ???
