Intermittent A/C - HELP
Model 2008 s6 - a/c runs for awhile and then shuts off - blower stops working - no air coming from vents
Strange – happens maybe once a week or twice aweek after 15mins or so
Seems to be a thermal issue (to me anyway) if the car gets hot it stops . . . anything I can do to test the unit myself before bringing it to Audi for the $5000 charge ?
Strange – car just had its 55K service (40K ON CAR)WAS fine before thaT . . . .

really strange - its been fine since this post - made an appt for Friday at the Audi dealership to do a scan to see if they find anything - will let you know

Start the car in the morning – no problem AC all the way to work. .
If the car sits in the sun for awhile and I get in it the first thing I notice (the solar circulation fans aren’t working – blower off) I turn the car on (no ac) blower off no matter what position I put the temp gage. . .
If I get the car moving and fool with the temp I can get the air to come back on . . . or if I put the car in the garage and let it sit out of the sun – blower will come back on - ac will work without a problem all the way home.
Might be a temp sensor issue (relay?) while the car is running the ac I notice its trying to figure out what the temp is in the car – cant make up its mind whether is should be on, off or barely running

Yep, pretty much EXACTLY what I am dealing with as well. Mine is at one of the OTHER dealers in my area today. The first one, who I prefer to deal with, said that since it wasn't in it's fault position when I brought it in to bring it back when it was...which can be WHENEVER. So I talked to another dealer and took it to them today. Thinking it's a sensor as well, although the blower acts a LITTLE funny, it works and it doesn't seem to be the compressor because it gets COLD so...we'll see.

I asked the question in another thread and got directed to a TSB database that showed it is most likely an AC pressure/temp sensor problem, but no responses from anyone who had the same issue that was resolved in a specific manner.
