Default Key doesn't fit in door lock.

I have Advance Key so I never use the door locks but yesterday I noticed my key doesn't fit in the door lock. It simply won't even go in. It fits in the ignition just fine and of course starts the car as well.

Is the key hole on the driver door for the valet key only? What's going on here?

I'm not he first owner, but have had the car for almost 3 years now. It was a CPO car so if the lock was changed I doubt Audi would certify as CPO with ignition and door locks that don't match.

Doesn't look like anything is jammed in there, but maybe because I never use it is just rusted shut. The key goes in about half way, but no further.

I had the exact same issue when I bought the car. I put a little wd-40 on the key and wiggled it in till it can turn. I do this every once in a while so when I actually do need to use my door lock I can use it.

Well I feel like a total tool now

Tried again earlier today and used a bit more force. The key went in and sure enough it works as expected. I put some lubricant in the lock and all is good now.

I'll make sure to lube it once in a while. Thanks for the tip AsianiceStyle.

Default Spare Plastic Key Broke Off

I tried all the graphite/WD-40 lubricating tricks with no luck. Took the door lock cylinder to a locksmith, they pulled out the cylinder, and found that part of a black spare key had broken off inside the lock cylinder. They were able to get it out and now it's working fine
