Power Steering Pump Leaking

Hey Guys,

My mechanic just told me I have a leak in my Power Steering pump... He quoted me just under $700 for just the pump and another hunk of money for the 3 hours of labor...

Is that a rip off or fair? He said the pump is an electric pump that is why its so expensive...

Honestly I was shocked at the cost being close to $1000 for just a pump...

Any pointers would be most appreciated.

I am not sure what "electric pump" means. Maybe it has servotronic.
