Quicker oil change
Removed my undertray today to check and clean under engine.
While I had the tray off I cut out a three & a half inch dia. hole centered on the drain plug,
then another plastic disc five inches dia to cover the hole. I fixed this second disc to the undertray with plastic expanding fasteners. like these - VAUXHALL CHEVROLET DAEWOO HONDA BUMPER TRIM SPLASH RIVET CLIPS X 10 | eBay
Now all I have to do is to remove this disc to change the oil, or I can just remove two of the fixings and spin it round.
Don't forget that when you turn the undertray over on the bench, left becomes right.

Do you happen to have any pictures of the install?
The reason I ask is that in a couple of months (at the next oil change), I'm going to be installing a Qwik Valve http://www.qwikvalve.com/ and am evaluating how to create a 'quick access' in the belly pan.
My initial thought was to use a piano hinge and 2 VERY strong magnets which would keep the hinge closed and would be quite easy to open when needed.
Essentially I would drive the car up onto my home made ramp (a few 2x6) and it would take me less than 30 seconds to start the drain process with NO NEED to remove the darn belly pan.
I'll be taking pics of the entire thing and posting it on this forum FWIW.

No pictures (No phone camra) but here is a diagram.

thanks for the diagram.
I'm going to try for fabricating the flap with the magnetic hinge. That should allow even quicker access. But I like your design...since it allows the required access without the need to remove that belly pan!

I suppose that you could fit another magnet to hold the flap out of the way.

If you're doing the following...you're doing it wrong
<iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Ueq3KZ_DrDc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
BTW, I'm going to be fabricating my dual magnet piano hatch in my belly pan next month and will take pics and video it for you all. With the magnets being as strong as they are it takes some real strength to separate them, therefore turbulence and small rocks/road debris should not be an issue.

rivet clips.. piano hatch...magnet flap....
all cool tricks... im not knocking them but for me
i would rather use the siphon on the regular and occasionally remove the belly pan/Front Noise Insulation/underside engine cover
its good to inspect the under side of motor and the insulation piece itself for any damage or leaks
early detection preventative measure against major issues
