ScanXL Pro and VAG-COM
Can anyone help me out and tell me if Vag-Com would work with ScanXL Pro to scan ECU in 2004 Range Rover HSE (OBD-II)?
This question sort of between Ranger Rover and Audi (which uses vcds) so I am not sure who to ask. Thanks in advance.

I'd ask Ross-Tech if they have every heard of it being done.
Because VCDS is a proprietary system/cable my guess is other software might not "see" the interface.
Wouldn't hurt to ask them both though.

Latest version of the software has window for generic obd 2 interface. It is pretty limited (read and erase codes).

Thanks guys but what I meant is if other software (such as scanxl or ids) will work with our cable since it is also obdii?

It talks obdii between cable and car. It uses proprietary USB protocol between computer and the cable.
You cannot use different software with vag cable.
