Solar Roof Not Working??
I think my solar roof stopped working. I no longer hear the blower motor running nor feel air coming from the vents when I turn off the ignition. Any ideas how to test? Or how to know if its even running or not. It is set to on in the climate control setup menu.I've read somewhere that the A8's have a relay or module, what about my A6?

I can feel the air coming our of the center vents when mine is running. If you can't feel the air, or hear the fans turning, it must not be working. When did you first notice that it was not working?

After reading this thread I paid attention to my car today and definitely noticed the noise of the fans and airflow from the center vents.
I cannot think of a test you can do other than park in a sunny location on a hot day. Might be a free check at the dealer if your car is under warranty.

After reading this thread I paid attention to my car today and definitely noticed the noise of the fans and airflow from the center vents.
I cannot think of a test you can do other than park in a sunny location on a hot day. Might be a free check at the dealer if your car is under warranty.

Inside the car you should find that there's no sliding sunshade and instead there's an interior trim panel permanently attached to the bottom half of the sunroof. That's because there's no translucent glass to look through when the sunroof is closed as is the case with the much more common moonroof.
When the sun's out, the solar sunroof should only operate if it's fully closed or tilted up in its vent position. If it's slid backwards in any position it won't work.

If your sunroof has a retratcable headliner so that you can see the glass from inside the car you do not have the solar sunroof. Based on your prior post regarding falling sunroof springs I am betting that you do not have the solar sunroof. Back in 2005 there were so many stand alone options that there are very few fully optioned cars. I sent an e-amil to Audi several years ago and while I forget the exact number I think there are less than 20 fully optioned 2005 A6s in the US. From what I recall the rare options in the 05 were the solar sunroof, Tire Pressure Monitoring system and the optional supplemental air bag system.

Today it's a bright sunny day so I just checked whether my solar roof is operating. As I enter the car it is NOT running, I turn the ignition to the on position, go into climate control's setup, scroll down to solar operation (which is set to on),I switch it to off then exit setup, then I go back in and turn it on, exit setup, switch ignition off and NOW it's RUNNING. It did the same thing yesterday. Any idea whats going on here?
