This happens after she drives quite a bit and the engine gets hot enough. I check the oil level weekly and it has not dropped at all. Any idea of what else could be causing this odor? I looked around in the engine bay. No sign of smoke or a way to pinpoint the exact spot where the burning smell emanates from. Any ideas?

p.s. Car has 40K or so miles on it. It had an oil change 4 months ago and that's when this odor started. I ignored it initially figuring it may have been a little spill and that it would burn itself off eventually.

My 4.2 did the same and it was the valve covers leaking a bit. Not enough to drip or anything, just a oil smell after running for an hour and pulling into garage.
