Default Uneven rear brake wear!!

My rear driver pad is completely down to the bare metal, and is rubbing against the rotor at low speeds making very hard noises. Strange thing is that my right rear pad is still over 1/3 remaining. Both pads were installed at the same time.
Also the grinding noise (of bare pad and rotor rubbing together) happens whether i brake OR NOT at low speeds.

My question is should I just go and replace the pads/rotors myself, if i have access to vag-com, or am i looking at a more serious problem?

You may have a stuck caliper. When you remove the old pads see if the other pad on the drivers side is also worn, if not the caliper could be sticky. You can fix that by lubricating the slides when you do the brakes. The other thing which can cause uneven wear side to side is a malfunctioning parking brake. When you have that side jacked up check to see if the brake is dragging when you rotated the wheel (you will need to shift to neutral).

If it were me, I would replace them myself and probably replace the rotors at the same time.

Another issue you might have is a bad caliper hose. If the hose is bad and bulges when you apply the brakes the pads do not get the pressure needed. Most likely though, it's a stuck caliper.

can it be caused by stuck caliper pins? used to be a problem on older Audis.

not to make a sarcastic remark, but it also can be result of making a lot of hard right corners (or driving on NASCAR track). The traction control would use the same rear brake to compensate over and over again

So I changed the rear pads and rotors and I'm getting the left rear caliper slightly pressing against the pads. I can tell because after a drive my rim is very hot and I can smell burning brakes. Ive lubed up the pins and piston seal, and my parking brake is working fine as per vag com diagnostics. Why is my caliper slightly pressing against the pads and rotor while I'm not braking ?

I'm seeing this on the VCDS after i perform the brake test:

Can anyone confirm that these values are supposed to be 0.000 not 1.333A on left parking brake??

Maybe the parking brake is slightly activated on the left somehow??
