2010 A7 headlight issue
I took my A7 in for maintenance at an Audi certified local workshop and since my LED number plate lights were blinking, I told them to also replace those. They told me that the originals shouldn't be LED and replaced them with regular non-LED ones.
I took the car home and didn't notice anything strange. However, next day (or possibly right after receiving it from maintenance, but I just didn't notice) the car started showing error "Vehicle lights malfunction". I took it back, they connected it to a computer and told me that the lights are giving some errors. Unfortunately, they didn't tell me what the exact errors were. They said I should replace the headlights (~2300€/piece). Since I still hope there's another way to fix this, I'm looking for advice on how to resolve this.
So basically I have 2 issues as far as I know (both seem to do with the passenger side headlight). The car is left-hand drive, so the headlight in question is on the left in the images below.
1) Daytime lights are not being lit properly:
- This is how it looks when the ignition is OFF:
- This is how it looks when the ignition is ON:
2) The second issue is with the passenger side curve light. When turning left, the curve light is working fine, but when turning right, the right-hand side is not being lit.
"Vehicle lights malfunction" error is being shown every time I start the car. All other lights seem to be working just fine. When turning the light **** to main headlights, they all light up just fine.
What I've tried:
- Checked the corresponding fuses ("Vehicle electrical system control module 1&2" and also "Headlight range adjustment/adaptive lighting system") and they were fine
- Put back the LED number plate lights and tried turning the car on, but the same error occurred, so I switched them back
- Just before writing this post, I put back the LED number plate lights again and decided to leave them on for some time to see if it fixes the issue
- Put the headlight **** to different positions (even off) and then turn the car on, but the error is being shown every time
- Bought an OBD2 cable and used "OBD Auto Doctor" to scan, but I only scanned the engine and transmission, so no help (I also didn't find any info on if I could see these kinds of errors if I bought the paid version and use that instead of the trial version)
