2012 Sim Card Options

I've been running a AT&T Sim card in my 2012 A7 since I got it two years ago. It's only a 2G connection but has been fine and it's part of my shared data package. I just received a letter from AT&T stating they are terminating all 2G service this month.

I've read multiple posts about Sim cards, but the playing field seems to have changed. I now understand there to be hardware upgrade options, third party data providers, and new Audi Connect restrictions.

I live in the Boston area and ideally would keep an AT&T card. Can someone list out the likely options I have?

I currently have T-mobile, I don't know how much of an option that is for you but I have 3G though them. I don't know about coverage in Boston however I believe 3G should be available.
