A7 advice please...

Hello. I found a used 2012 A7 and I want to make sure that is a good year of the A7. Are there any lemon year models or a drastic improvement that was made from one model to the next? Thank you.

According to Consumer Reports, which I have less faith in day by day, no. They rate much better than average. But parts cost are high so make an exit plan or figure on some costs commensurate with the cost of the car.

I had a 2012 before trading in for a 2016. I had no issues; just the fuel rail recall that was nothing more than an annoyance because they reflashed the ECU and deleted my APR tune. Parts and costs are high, as previously noted, but nothing surprising when compared to its German counterparts.

I had a 2012 A7 for 3 years, the fuel rail issue popped up on it (and was fixed) before the recall was announced, otherwise only very minor issues, mainly with the "toys". As far as the engine and power train, the car was rock solid.

I traded it for a 2015 A7 TDI, best move I ever made!
