Default A7 vs RS3

Hi everyone,

Reposting this in the A7 thread - not sure if dual posting is allowed but sue me, I'm new.

I've recently gone down the rabbit hole of a new car and I've down selected to an RS3. I currently drive a 2017 Audi A7 with 45k miles on it (premium plus package).

It's strange because I absolutely love the A7 but two of the reasons I'm considering the switch:
1. RS3 seems to be a bit more understated. A7 has a very distinct look and it attracts a decent amount of attention.
2. I'm looking for a smaller, more maneuverable car. I've only driven larger cars (had a Lexus GS350 before the A7) and the RS3 seems like this small beast. The A7 is a beaut but it's rather showy and it's quite a big car.

I've been thinking about this for the past two months and I've been talking to dealers. I might have a pretty good deal on a used RS3. Cost is about $46k for about 30k miles on the thing - which by my analysis is a crazy good deal. It's a matter of pulling the trigger and I'm stuck between loving my A7 because of the practicality (trunk space is amazing), comfort, and good amount of speed (330 hp) vs the want of having a smaller (more on this below), less showy, and CRAZY fast RS3.

RS3 has small back seats. Granted, I'm only 5'8" so as a driver, I won't have an issue but in an instance where I'd be taking 4 other people in the car, is it possible? Would it be unbearable in the back if 5 people are in the car driving for about an hour?

Any thoughts/comments are welcome! I'm stuck and am in need of opinions!

Thanks

I have to say I struggle to see an RS3 as less showy than an A7.

I have not voted - you have to decide if you want a car which is undoubtedly faster and more fun, then buy he RS3.

If carrying capacity and comfort is of higher importance, stay with the A7.

One thing to think about is insurance and maintenance costs for the RS3. Back in 2018 I looked at trading our A7 for an RS7 (new) and the insurance increase with significant. Ended up electing to wait for the new A7 for other reasons

it may not be that different, but something to check out
