Now I'm torn between order it now or wait until the US A7 has the 5 seater option :-( I'm sure I'll feel bad if the 5 seater option comes out right after I get the car.

You should really call the dealership and have them confirm that its even coming over here...

I don't think he is going to tell you any info that will make you wait to a transaction. But maybe you have a close enough relationship that he would - I just don't think that's typical dealer behavior.

It is interesting that engineers seem to be picking the A6, and non-engineers the A7. From a practicality POV, the A6 is an outstanding vehicle... But style does count for a lot.

It seems to be the case that Audi is making a lot more A6's than A7's. I gather the A7 was not thought to be a high volume vehicle?

I do think it looks pretty cool though - and I will probably be happy with either.

My guess is the dealer won't tell me either even if they know.

How do you guys deal with the cheap looking plastic console in the middle rear seat? It just look too out of place.

Dealer won't miss a deal, guaranteed.

The console is not a problem for me one bit. That I.M.O. is totally picky, however with that said it is all in the eyes of the beholder, like color and color combinations. Good Luck.

The A7 is definitely positioned to be the more exclusive vehicle in the line up. Part of Audi's business strategy is to make more striking cars that appeal to wealthy, sophisticated, and more discerning customers. In essence, they are trying to lure more business away from BMW and Mercedes.

Even if a person doesn't get the A7, it definitely brings positive attention to the brand, and the potential customer may get the A6 or the A8 instead of the competitor's model.
