AMI Cable

Was wondering if anyone received the ipod cable with the vehicle or is it a separate purchase from Audi?

I received mine with the car. The dealer told me that they would only include the ipod cable, and not any other form of mmi cable e.g usb ect.

I received one with the blue grommet. Had to buy one with the red grommet that would show the artwork. They would neither exchange or give me a freebie.

My 2013 came with a blue cable. Luckily my salesman didnt know much about it and just exchanged the blue one for the red. Cover art and video still dont work using my iPhone. I dont have the software version needed. So now I have to get a software update to use cover flow and iPhone video. I thought the 2013's would not have this issue.

My order listed a part AMI. Will that work with both iPod and iPhone and show the artwork? Does the bluetooth connection for streaming also show the artwork? What should I look for in cable color and software version? My sales guy is nice and I got a good deal but he is still learning.

Red shows artwork from ipod but not cover flow only works with newer ipod and iphones ipads. Also shows video.

Blue works with older ipods iphones but does not support cover art

Cover flow only works on the jukebox. you need to merge the album art with the tracks for it to work. There is software that will do this for you. Test it with one track. You can then copy your itunes folders onto sd card and copy onto jukebox.
