Audi A7 config
Latest I have heard is the end of 2011 for a third seat option. The current rear seat structure has not been engineered to support a centre sash.
And to the OP, the German configurator has been up for a month, but they have only just added the S line option. But they still have issues with S line production, and a number of accessories are still not available. I have been trying to place an order for a week, without success, due to S line issues. Particularly wheels.
Standard cars have been ordered from two weeks ago, and initial deliveries of dealer pre-orders should be in by early November.
As you said, it will be hard for those in the US to equate the German configurator to what they can order, and what they will pay. The A7 has a huge number of available options, some of which will be made standard equipment in the US model, some which will be grouped in packages, and some which will be unavailable due to production costs. It is hard to configure this car without increasing cost over base by at least one third.
