How is that? Anything against products made in Mexico, I thought an EXPERT like you in EVERY single topic in this forum would never made such a racist and ignorant comment, as a Mexican citizen l do not appreciate that attitude.

By the way do you like Samsung and Sony tvs? Go check in the back where they were made.

And Audi is not the only automotive brand in Mexico.

I totally hear your point. I believe Audi will establish its stringent quality control on par with its german manufacturing facilities. I am absolutely convinced that geographical location of the Audi's manufacturing facility is irrelevant as far as the quality is concerned. Audi's relocation strategy to Mexico is for the purpose of cutting logistical expenses and perhaps cheaper labor cost (Germany has very high labor cost i.e. high hourly rate, generous benefits etc).

Any country with proper training can achieve the same results, period. Presently I no longer look at where the product is made, I look at the brand name. For example the premium clothing brands as Hugo Boss, Armani etc have their clothing made in such countries as Bangladesh, China, Pakistan etc. All of them are excellent products and adhere to the expected qualities associated with these brands.

Whoa, easy there. Sorry I upset you with my misplaced, small attempt at humor. Calling my short post racist, though, was misplaced as well as it's simply not accurate. Most of my products are built in China or Korea and I'm sure I have others made in Mexico and elsewhere.

I don't consider myself an "expert", but I hope I've been able to share some useful info on Audis in the forums over the last 12 years. We didn't agree on our last discussion re dealers making a profit on trade-ins, but I hope you took it for what it was - just a discussion, right?

Again, sorry for my regrettable, throwaway comment. Although, my statement on the surface as it was written was true - I have no plans to buy an SUV in 2016 (or in any year, made anywhere).

My response had nothing to do with our disagreement regarding dealers and trade-ins, I consider you a person that (Although I do not agree with everything you say) tries to help people with what you consider is a good advice, I believe most of the people in the forum is here to help not to fight.

But if I post some news that the SUV will be made in Mexico in 2016 and you say "we'll it looks I won't be considering an Audi SUV starting in 2016" you are implying because it will be made in Mexico, you can try to sugarcoat it saying it is true because you have no plans to buy an SUV, but you said "starting in 2016" and that means once they are made in Mexico.

I am not the only one who believed your comment was racist, because it is, you can have iPhones made in China and other products made in Korea or Mexico that doesn't change anything.
Americans are really proud about their country, and I can assure you that if I say something like "I won't be considering an Italian brand suit starting next year" when the suits will be made in the USA next year, every single American reading it that post will be mad, same thing here, you just don't have that many Mexicans here.

I could not say most Americans (that would be a racist remark as well) but some Americans tend to believe Mexico is a **** hole, and they have never been there, some of them think Mexico is everything south of the border, including Central America, and Mexicans are only in the US stealing jobs from Americans and not paying taxes, enjoying welfare, education, health care and social security for free.

http://rationalwiki.org/wiki/Myths_a..._United_States

For me those people are ignorant and racist, but ignorant and racist people are everywhere in the world, most of them are just brainwashed for certain news networks (Fox news) that make a living exploiting these topics and people's fears.
(Do you think Bill O'Reilly really believes what he says?, it is just a show)

I accept your apology, if it is sincere.

Certainly a smart move on Audis part to move the plants closer to market. Should really cut down on wait times for custom orders and reduce costs.. The BMW X5 we were looking at is made in the Carolina's and be custom built/delivered in 30 days.

Feralc, my off-hand, one-line post did not intend to imply Mexicans were inferior; the only implication intended was that Audis made in Mexico would be, even if misplaced. It's quite a leap to assume one is a racist of an entire people because of a factory preference comment. That's why I responded that I have products manufactured in many countries. (And I have visited Mexico several times).

Look, I could have been an a__ and continued to argue about Mexican factories or whatever or I could have ignored your response but I didn't do either - I apologized. Short of sending you my severed left hand as a token of my sincerity, there's really nothing more I can say or do. Let's rest it here and get back to talking about Audis. That ok with you?

Feralc, BTW, I had an opportunity in my job to visit a Mitsubishi TV factory in Mexicali several years ago. We spent the entire day getting a tour and meeting with the Mexican factory executives and some of the line workers where we shared ideas. It was quite a first-rate operation and I came away very impressed.

I remember when Mitsu rear-projection TVs were a thing much to be desired. Does that make me old?
