Bought a one-owner 189K Miles 2013 A7!
Prestige with Innovation Package, everything seems to work, but it may have a bad wheel bearing - I did not hear the noise during the test drive, and only caught it when I picked up the car after the water pump was replaced...so it may also be the fact that they butchered the splash shields under the engine. I more or less put it back in place with with zip ties, hopefully all noise goes away once I have a chance to attach it properly.
The car was driven 5,000 miles over the past two years (owner retired). First thing I did was replace the two-year old 5,000 mile oil - does the picture of the oil filter below give you any ideas?
This will be a weekend car, 3,000 miles a year tops. I'm planning to change the oil again in a couple of months to give the engine a better cleaning, maybe replace the engine/trans splash shields with an aluminum aftermarket version, replace the fuel filter, air filter, spark plugs, eventually do the PCV valve, and the wheel bearing if needed. I welcome any thoughts/advice on preventive maintenance at this mileage, thanks in advance!
Dirtiest section of oil filter, 5,000 miles, two years.
