I used the Armor All Protectant, that you recommended. It's expensive for the can ($15), and I only did the front wheels. I think the can will do 8-12 wheels. Two weeks later my wheels are still clean !! I was washing my front wheels at least twice a week before. Driven 1000 miles in two weeks and through at least 5 rainy days.... My wheels look amazing.... Thanks for the find, Karpito. It's a Great One...

IMHO, Audi OEM pads for decades have been filty - and have poor brake feel. Audi installs the softest pad possible for old people who like to put one weak toe on the brake pedal and have the car grab and stop. I have immediately replaced OEM pads with Akebono Euro and (1) have NO dust, (2) pads last a long time and (3) the rotors last too. Most importantly, excellent brake feel (firmer and more control, less grab) with Akebono.

Take a look at Amazon. With a subscription its around $6 (USD) per can

Wanted to update the group.. I did go with the Opti-coat on the rims when I did the rest of the car. Think it was $20 per wheel and not only can I just wash off any dust with a simple hose + pressure nozzle but it takes 2+ weeks of pretty constant driving to even notice any form of buildup / decrease in the shine of the chrome.

Really happy with the choice to coat them and not having to worry about reapplying on a regular basis.

I used Gtechniq C5, amazing... Brake dust doesn't get to heavy. Wipes off very easily.

adding a picture that shows over two weeks, 5 rain days and 1500 miles. You can now see the areas that I missed on my first use of Armor All Wheel Protectant.
