Default Car cover

I have a 2016 A7 which I'll be parking for the winter here pretty quick. I'm looking at indoor car covers that run about $400-$500. I know I can use old blankets which would do just as well. Does anyone have a car cover they want to sell? Also who's using what on their car if they cover it?

Back when I had a Mustang Cobra I just used a car cover I got at Autozone when I parked it for the winter in my garage. You can pick them up for under $50 and the 1 I had worked perfectly fine and did not scratch the paint. As long as its clean and waxed when you park it any sort of soft cover will work perfectly fine.

Years ago I would cover my 911 during it's winter hibernation in my garage. Then I replaced the 911 with a GT3 and the cover wouldn't fit due to the wing. While looking to buying a new cover, I wondered "Why do I cover the car? To keep it clean? To avoid bumping it? Because the cover looks better than my car?". Guess what? I haven't covered the GT3 during the past four years and, when out of my garage in March, it looks just like it did when I put it away in November. No dirt. No significant dust. No bumps, dings, or damage. If you're storing your A7 in your own garage, skip the cover!
