Default Check engine light on...

Again?! Really starting to hate this car... If only for the inconvenience it's caused/causing! Headed to the dealer tomorrow - Again! I don't ever want to hear another wisecrack on American vehicles and their reliability!

I don't think there's a case of american market cars' quality in here. I think it's about 2011/2012 A7's and american's policies of changing your cars when they prove to be lemons...

I am sorry for you. It really sucks when a car such as an A7 and its pricetag shovel brown-matter in your face.

OP, it's unfortunate that you're having multiple issues with your A7. I would suggest for you to do yourself and us all a favor and head straight to MB dealer and get that CLS. Just as word of precaution, my previous vehicle was a Merc, and the wife is currently sporting a new Merc SUV Bluetec, the MB service advisor & I are on first name basis. If you think your A7 has issues, our Merc vehicles have built in gremlins that wouldn't quit.

Hope the MB dealer you're dealing with has as comfortable & luxurious lounge as the one we have in Houston. Btw, I also frequent MBWorld & Benzworld forums, both are very informative. I suspect you'll be posting over there once you get your CLS?

Cheers & good luck.

Soon... But in the meantime, I will continue to voice my discontent here, as this is a forum designed for said topics; and I'm sure my experiences aren't 1) isolated incidents, and 2) Maybe will help the next potential customer make a more informed decision.

hopefully you may find some comfort in these words. the check engine light does not mean you have a problem with your engine. it is merely an indication to have it looked into. there is an issue with the current A7, where the sensor is interpreting the fuel mixture as being too lean here in the U.S. It is a known problem and should be fixed by the next software update. your dealer can simply turn this off. hopefully, this is all that is going on with your car. I feel your pain, my last A6 suffered from a chronic TPMS alarm - nothing wrong with the tires, but problems with the sensor. occurred from week one, and took several months to resolve.

there are just too many damn sensors these days, many (like TPMS) were dictated to the industry by the government, and often the technology is not ready for prime time.

have them turn it off. it is highly unlikely you have a engine malfunction.

good luck
